Navel piercings, also known as belly button piercings, are typically done through the skin above or around the belly button. 

Surface piercings are a type of body piercing that involves the insertion of jewelry through a flat area of skin, rather than a traditional front to back piercing. Common locations for surface piercings include the nape of the neck, the cheek, the chest, the wrists, and the hips.

Dermal piercings are a type of body piercing that involves implanting a small piece of jewelry right underneath the upper layer of skin. They typically involve a flat disc or gem that sits flush. They can be placed virtually anywhere on the body, but are commonly found on the face, neck, chest, fingers and back. 

Bridge piercing is a type of facial piercing that is located on the bridge of the nose, between the eyes.  This piercing does not enter cartilage.

Eyebrow piercings are typically done through the brow ridge, commonly towards the end, however can be placed in many angles and positions.

Nostril piercings done on the cartilage of the nose, either on one or both sides. Placement for these piercings are endless. 

Septum piercings are placed through the 'sweet spot' inside your nose. This refers to the small bit of our nose tip that contains no cartilage- making this a fan favorite piercing.

A Monroe piercing is a type of facial piercing located above the upper lip on either side, meant to mimic the beauty mark famously worn by Marilyn Monroe.

A Medusa piercing is a type of facial piercing located in the center above the upper lip, in the philtrum. 

The lip piercing can be located in various positions around the mouth, such as off-center, centered, cornered, and paired.

A vertical labret piercing is a type of lip piercing where a curved barbell is inserted vertically through the lip. This can be upper lip, lower lip, or paired.

A horizontal lip piercing is a type of lip piercing where a curved barbell is inserted horizontally through the lip.

A labret piercing is located just below the center of the lower lip, where the lip meets the chin.

A tongue piercing uses a straight barbell to place vertically through the center of the tongue, top to bottom.

Scoop piercings place a curved barbell horizontally or vertically through only the surface of the tongue, usually centered. This piercing does not go through the entire tongue top to bottom.

Viper bites are two standard tongue piercings, paired on each side of the tongue. These barbells enter top to bottom.

An Ashley piercing is a type of lip piercing that is placed in the center of the lower lip. The jewelry enters on the inside of the mouth.

A smiley piercing places a hoop through the thin membrane that connects your upper lip to your gums.

Snake bites are paired lower lip piercings, with one on each side near the corner of your mouth.

Spider bites are paired lower lip piercings, usually placed together on one side next to each other, to mimic the closer fangs of a spider. (in comparison to the snake bites)

Snake eyes places a curved barbell horizontally through the surface near the tip of your tongue.

The helix piercing is commonly called a 'cartilage piercing'. While this does go through cartilage- it is meant to be referring to piercings along the upper edge of the ear.

FUN FACT ! Almost all of your ear is made of cartilage- only your ear lobes are not.

The conch is the inner rounded bowl-like cartilage of your ear. Placements vary from outer edge for hoop fitting in the future, or inner/lower/upper spots.

Daith piercing is a type of body piercing that involves piercing the innermost cartilage fold of the ear, above the ear canal. Hoops are used for this.

This involves piercing the fleshy lower part of the earlobe. It is one of the most common and popular types of body piercing. Placements can get very creative, with stacks, clusters, and constellations.

Forward helix pierces forward-facing cartilage at the top of the ear.

Industrial piercing is a type of body piercing that involves piercing the cartilage of the upper ear in two separate locations, and then connecting them with a single piece of jewelry. The two piercings are typically placed at a slight angle to each other, creating a diagonal line across the top of the ear. 

This takes a ring or hoop and places it in two separate piercings, creating a line of orbit through a part of your ear. Can be lobes or cartilage.

Rook piercing is above the tragus and daith. A curved barbell is placed upon initial piercing.

The tragus is the small flap of cartilage that extends from the ear canal over the opening of the ear. 

Anti-tragus piercing is a type of body piercing that involves piercing the small, protruding piece of cartilage opposite the tragus, on the outer edge of the ear. The piercing is typically done with a curved barbell.

Snug piercing is a type of body piercing that involves piercing the cartilage of the inner ridge of the ear.

Transverse lobe piercing is a type of body piercing that involves piercing the earlobe horizontally instead of the traditional vertical piercing. The piercing is typically done with a curved barbell.
